NEW ULM - Brown County commissioners on Tuesday will consider an agreement with Minnesota State University, Mankato for student clinical experience in public health from July 2012 through July, 2017.

Public Health has served as a clinical site for Public Health nursing education for many years for students who live in or near Brown County that ask for experience in Brown County, according to the Request for Board Action (RBA).

For the 2012-13 academic year, MSU Mankato has requested to use the Brown County Public Health Department as a clinical site during spring and summer semesters.

Commissioners will also consider:

A $12,264 quote from Wurtzberger Construction Inc. of Sleepy Eye to replace part of the approach sidewalk and portions of the city sidewalk on the State Street side of the Brown County Courthouse.

The Building Committee reviewed the condition of the sidewalk approaching the State Street entrance to the courthouse and portions of the city sidewalk in that area.

Due to numerous cracks and regular efforts needed to repair sidewalk breaks, quotes were obtained. Heymann Construction of New Ulm's bid for the project was $19,491.

Buying a highway department boom mower. The old mower is a 1988 Alamo Minuteman. There is no trade-in value because neither of the two bidders wants the old mower, buy it could be sold on MnBID, according to the RBA.

Quotes including sales tax are $22,070.06 for a Diamond model from Diamond Mowers, Inc. and $23,378.37 for a Tiger model from Titan Machinery. The budgeted amount for the boom mower is $26,863, according to the RBA.
