MANKATO - The New Ulm girls' soccer team won the Loyola Tournament for the third year of a row on Saturday, securing the title with victories against the Hutchinson Tigers and the Waseca Bluejays.
The Eagles defeated the Tigers 7-1 before going on the beat the Bluejays 2-0.
Against Hutchinson, Peyton Lewis led the way for New Ulm with three goals and one assist. Adding a single goal each for the Eagles were Hannah Paustian, Nicole Moldstad, Martha Balge and Monica Illikman.
Illikman also contributed two assists, with Moldstad and Abby Koelpin adding an assist apiece.
Shelby Smith earned three saves in goal for New Ulm.
Moldstad scored both of the Eagles' goals against Waseca, netting her first score on a penalty kick and adding an unassisted goal in the second half.
Smith notched five saves in net against the Bluejays.
New Ulm (3-0) will next play at 3 p.m. on Thursday in New Prague.
