MARSHALL - The River Valley girls' tennis team was leading Marshall on Thursday afternoon by a 2-0 score when thunder, lightning, torrential rains and hail put a quick end to things.

The weather couldn't have come at a worse time for the Wildcats as River Valley held leads at No. 3 singles (Lauren Laffen 6-1, 5-2), No. 2 singles (Becky Roiger 6-2, 3-1), No. 2 doubles (Marlayna Evers/Erika Ries 6-5) and No. 1 singles (Kallie Smith 8-7 in the first set tie-breaker).
