ROCHESTER - Minnesota 1st Congressional District candidates incumbent Democrat U.S. Rep. Tim Walz and Republican challenger Allen Quist have scheduled their first debate on Thursday Sept. 27.
The debate is one of a series of three debates that Walz challenged Quist to participate in. Quist agreed.
The debate will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the Somberby Golf Community in Byron. The Rochester Public Utilities is sponsoring the event. The Rochester Post-Bulletin, KTTC-TV, Minnesota Public Radio and the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce are partnering. KTTC-TV anchor Tom Overlie will be debate moderator.
