ARLINGTON - Harold L. Otto, 89, of Arlington, died Friday, Aug.10, 2012, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington with burial in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery. Military honors by the Manthey-Asmus American Legion Post 433.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15; and 7:30-8 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, at Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord. There will be a prayer service on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
Harold Leonard Fred Otto was born on May 28, 1923, in Dryden Township, Sibley County, Minn., to Robert and Gusta (Pomplun) Otto.
He served in the United States Army during World War II from October 1944 to August 1946.
He is survived by his daughter, Barb Otto of Gaylord; son, George Otto of Arlington; sister, Viola Quast of Arlington; and brothers, Elmer Otto of Arlington, Clarence Otto of Arlington, Raymond Otto of Gaylord, and Ervin Otto of Cleveland.
