NEW ULM - Becca Rosenhammer and her cow Tina make a good team. Rosenhammer has been showing the four-year-old registered Holstein for three years now, and has been winning ribbons all along.

Two years ago Tina won her class at the Minnesota State Fair. Last year she was the Reserve Champion at the Brown County Fair. This year Rosenhammer and Tina took top honors at the Dairy Days show, and they won the Champion Overall Cow honors in the 4-H Dairy Show Friday.

Rosenhammer, 15, is the daughter of John and Patty Rosenhammer and is a member of the Stark Happy Hustlers. She's had Tina from birth and is looking forward to another trip to the Minnesota State Fair.

Reserve Champion honors went to Boston Portner, 19, daughter of Tom and Mary Portner and a member of the Leavenworth Lucky Clovers. She showed a Brown Swiss cow and took the Senior Showmanship award as well as reserve champion.

This is her last year in 4-H, said Portner. She will be starting her second year at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where she is studying Art Therapy and Criminal Justice.

Portner said she may not be competing next year but she will still be around the dairy barn, helping her four younger sisters with their cows.
