NEW ULM - On Tuesday, Brown County commissioners will consider a request by the Brown County License Bureau to use an ATM cash machine for a year-long trial period.
The license bureau has researched the possibility of installing an ATM cash machine for several years, but until now, found the investment too large or required transaction amounts too high, according to a Request for Board Action (RBA).
The A. H. Hermel Company, which has ATM machines in neighboring license centers, offered to install the machine, maintain it by filling it with needed cash and paper, administer all $2.50 transaction fees, and carry liability insurance, all at no charge to the county except for electrical service and any telephone expense to the ATM, according to the RBA.
The lease would continue for 24 months. If the ATM does not produce at least 40 transactions per month for two consecutive months, Hermel, in its sole discretion, may remove the ATM from the building.
Commissioners will also consider:
Sixteen drainage ditch repair requests ranging from $339 to $8,509 in Home, Eden, Prairieville, Mulligan, Lake Hanska and North Star townships.
