PLYMOUTH - Alan Jacob McMullen, 33, of Plymouth and formerly of Comfrey, died on Sunday, July 29, 2012.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, at New Hope Church in New Hope (corner of Hwy 169 and Rockford Rd) at 11 a.m. with visitation starting at 10 a.m.

A private family burial will held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Comfrey.

Flowers may be sent to New Hope Church in New Hope early on Monday morning or to St. Paul Catholic Church in Comfrey early on Tuesday morning. Memorial may be made to the donor's choice.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey.

Alan Jacob McMullen was born to Richard and Susan (Sellner) McMullen of Comfrey on May 17, 1979 in Springfield. He attended St. Paul's Catholic Elementary School and Comfrey Public School and graduated in 1997. He then went to Ridgewater College in Willmar and graduated in 2000 from their Pre-Engineering Program. Alan attended Mankato State University and graduated in 2002, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Alan worked at Endura Tech which later became BOSE in Eden Prairie as a Mechanical Engineer up until the present. Alan was a member of the Delton Doers 4-H Club of Cottonwood County, participated in high school football and baseball and Ridgewater College Football. He married Kirstin Hawes of Oakdale on May 19, 2006.

Alan died on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the age of 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, Kirstin; daughters, Adelynn, Noelle, and Lydia; parents, Richard and Susan McMullen of Comfrey; brothers, Ryan (Miranda) McMullen and their children, Kylee and Paige of Mountain Lake, Philip McMullen of Plymouth, and Dale McMullen of Comfrey; and grandmothers, AnnaMae McMullen and Beverly Sellner, both of Comfrey. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Sellner and Donald McMullen.
