ESSIG - Searles defeated Essig 13-8 Sunday in the second game of the best-of-three series in Tomahawk East League Amateur baseball playoff action.
The loss ends Essig's season at 11-13.
Ian Draeger was the winning pitcher. He went 7 2/3 innings and allowed three walks, 13 hits and seven runs. Mark Giesen took the loss. He allowed two walks, nine hits and seven runs.
For Essig, Kyle Helget was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Ryan Weier was 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
For Searles, Zach Fischer was 3-for-4 with a home run and two doubles. He had five RBIs and two runs scored. Cole Dulas was 3-for-6 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Searles will advance to Region 2C play beginning Friday.
