HUTCHINSON?- Sleepy Eye lost the Northwest Sub-District Championship to Dassel-Cokato, 9-5, to take second in the tournament on Sunday.
Sleepy Eye advances to district competition when it meets Shakopee at 10 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Park in New Ulm.
In Sunday's defeat by Dassel-Cokato, David Suprenant took the pitching loss, going six innings, giving up six runs, four hits and five walks; and throwing three strikeouts.
Brandon Helget went 2-for-4, with one double and two runs scored.
Lucas Heiderscheidt went 2-for-3, and had one RBI.
Sleepy Eye's record is 14-11.
