NEW ULM - Duane Oftedahl and Kailey Schiesl won the male and female divisions of Turner Hall's Find the Balance 5k walk/run Saturday morning.
Oftedahl, of New Ulm, finished three seconds ahead of Sleepy Eye ultra-marathoner John Maas, touring the course in 19 minutes, two seconds.
"It was sticky," Oftedahl said afterwards.

More than 200 runners and walkers begin Turner Hall’s Find the Balance walk/run Saturday morning.
New Ulm's Chris Gordon was third in 19:32, followed by Ahren Backman of Benson, 20:25; and U.S. Army soldier Phil Kaminsky of Mankato, in 20:36.
Schiesl, 16, was clocked in 22:46. Following were Amber Rundell 23:10, Cindy Wiles 23:31, Gail Boe 24:26 and Milissa Nachreiner 24:29.
Each of the 217 finishers received commemorative "beer boots" and root beer mugs were available for runners under age 21.
A small number of participants wore German costumes and received a free beer or root beer after the race. All entrants got discounted entries to Bavarian Blast.
