MINNETONKA - New Ulm Legion Gold went 1-1 at the Gopher Classic Monday.
In the first game, Gold defeated Papillion, Neb., 2-1. Erich Prokosch earned the win and had the go-ahead RBI at the plate.
Prokosch pitched all seven innings and allowed three hits. He struck out six and didn't allow an earned run. At the plate, he was 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI.
Jory Dove was 2-for-3 for Gold.
In the second game, Gold fell to Lakeville North 7-5. Dan Blackstad took the loss. He pitched three innings and struck out one, allowing five runs. Dove pitched three innings and struck out two while giving up an earned run.
Offensively, Drew Pfaff was 1-for-2 with a double.
New Ulm Gold (18-7) was originally supposed to play at Worthington tonight but that game will not be played tonight. Gold hosts Hutchinson at 8 p.m. Thursday at Mueller Park.
