NEW ULM-After being on the wrong end of a perfect game earlier in the day, New Ulm Blue lost 5-1 to Sioux Falls Saturday night at Mueller Park to finish the Upper Midwest Classic with an 0-4 record.
Sioux Falls struck first in the bottom half of the first when Jaden Holzer drew a lead-off walk and came around to score on a two-out single from Damon Boruth.
New Ulm answered quickly by scoring in the second inning. Jim Holstein singled to start the inning, advanced to second on a single by Nick Dewanz, and came around to score on a single from Collin Kral.

Dewanz picked up two hits on the night for New Ulm.
After walking the bases loaded with just one out in the second inning, New Ulm pitcher Cole Dulas was able to get his second double play in as many innings to get out of the inning without giving up a run.
With one out in the bottom of the third inning Nick Mimmach singled and Boruth followed with a walk. Both runners came around to score on Kenny Dobberpuhl's double to the left field wall to give Sioux Falls a 3-1 lead after three innings of play.
Mimmach finished the game going 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored.
Holzer started the fourth inning with a single, he stole second and came around to score on a RBI single from Christian Rasmussen to increase the lead to 4-1.
After leaving a pair of runners on base in both the second and fourth innings, New Ulm left Javen Munce and Holstein on base to end the fifth inning.
Munce went 2-for-4 with a double and an outfield assist on the night.
Sioux Falls added an unearned run for insurance in the sixth inning, but Munce's throw from left field cut down what would have been the sixth run at home plate.
Munce doubled in the seventh but was left there as Sioux Falls held on for the win.
Dulas took the loss for New Ulm Blue, he allowed five runs-four earned-on nine hits in six innings of work. He struck out two and walked six.
Connor Grove picked up the win for Sioux Falls. He scattered seven hits over six innings of work. He struck out five and walked two.
Sioux Falls finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.
