NEW?ULM? - Hearts Beat Back: The Heart of New Ulm Project (HONU) is launching a series of "Dine with a Dietitian"? events that offer people an opportunity to dine at local New Ulm restaurants with HONU registered dietitian Rebecca Fliszar. For those who've ever wanted to pick the brain of a nutrition expert to help know how to make healthier food and beverage choices while eating out - that chance is here!
"Many people have a lot of questions about how to make healthier choices when eating out,"?said Fliszar. "We're constantly seeing headlines about the benefits or risks of certain foods and ingredients, so it can be pretty overwhelming to sort out all the information.
"These events are a great way for people to get their questions answered and to see what many of our great New Ulm restaurants are doing to help make it easier to eat well when dining out."
Fliszar will walk people through tips for eating out and choosing heart-healthier meals, share how to make requests for healthful food and beverages and be available to answer questions about nutrition or HONU.
There is no need to pre-register; diners will pay for their own food choices at the restaurant. Several restaurants will be featuring some specially prepared menu items, or people can simply order from the regular restaurant menu.

Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lamplighter Family Sports Bar & Grill, 214 N. Minnesota St.
