With a heat index above 100 degrees, area residents sought relief from the summer blast of high temperatures and humidity in air-conditioned buildings or dips in the pool. New Ulm recorded a mid-afternoon high of 94, and the high in Sleepy Eye was 99. Highs of 90 are predicted for the next several days.
