SPRINGFIELD - The New Ulm Brewers blanked Springfield Sunday night and Tomahawk East League Amateur baseball action.
Chris Cariveau earned the win for the Brewers and Mike Salazar took the loss for the Tigers.

New Ulm (10-2) hosts Sleepy Eye at 8 p.m. Wednesday and Springfield (6-6) hosts Gibbon at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

ESSIG - Essig defeated Gibbon in Tomahawk East League amateur baseball Sunday.
Eric Scheibel pitched five innings and allowed five hits and two runs. He struck out two. Sam VanHon pitched a complete game and took the loss.
For Essig, Mitch Stueber was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Kyle Helget was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs and Terry Helget was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run.
For Gibbon, Justin Schwecke was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run and Tony Stadherr was 2-for-4.
