NEW ULM Winifred "Winnie" Ladd, 77, of New Ulm died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
"Celebration of Life" memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Rev. Debra Bergstrand officiating. Interment will take place in Wisconsin at a later date.
Visitation will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Monday, June 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Schmucker Funeral Service of New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Winifred “Winnie” Ladd
Winifred Adele Lehr, the daughter of James Wesley and Beulah (Harker) Lehr was born April 19, 1935 in rural Iowa County, Wis. She was a graduate of Dodgeville High School in Dodgeville, Wis. Winifred was united in marriage to Douglas Ladd June 26, 1955 at the United Methodist Church in Dodgeville. They made their home in Madison, Wis., LeSueur, Minn., Jamestown, N.D. and then settled in New Ulm in 1979. Winnie worked for Dodgeville State Bank, First National Bank of Madison, Valley State Bank of LeSueur, was a Parish Worker at United Church of Christ in LeSueur, Jamestown Credit Union, C.H. Carpenter Lumber and Atonement Lutheran Church in Jamestown, Lampert Lumber in New Ulm and retired from Biebl Ranweiler in New Ulm after 20 years and Allen J. Hanson, CPA in New Ulm.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the New Ulm Optimist Club and published the newsletter. Past volunteer positions were: Secretary at Our Saviors, President of Business and Professional Women in LeSueur, on the ALCW Board for Atonement Lutheran in Jamestown (12 years), on the board of OSLC ALCW, financial secretary for OSLC, New Ulm Chamber Oktoberfest Committee, served as CAST board president and secretary, and Secretary/Treasurer for Birchwood Estates Association.
Her interests were reading, golfing, designing newsletters and brochures, posters on the computer, spending time with family and compiling and writing cookbooks for family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Douglas of New Ulm; son Mark (Nanette) Ladd of Austin; daughter Karen (Denis) Wilhelmi of Morgan; grandchildren Justin Gaffer, Samantha Ladd, Derek Wilhelmi, Elizabeth Leger, Danielle Ladd, David Wilhelmi, Jeremiah Birth, Amanda Evans, Zachery Wilhelmi, Rebecca Evans, Angelica Wilhelmi, Michael Ladd; great-granddaughter Alea Birth; brother James Wesley Lehr of Arlington, Wis.; sister Laura Kuball of Baraboo, Wis.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Malcolm "Mickey" (Ardell) Ladd of Gotham, Wis., Allan Ladd of Columbia, S.C., Jane (Richard) Walters of Columbia, S.C., Judy (Peter) Skelbred of Anoka, Laura (Rob) Donner of Platteville, Wis., Alice (Gene) Bailey of Stoughton, Wis.; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Winnie was preceded in death by her brother Harker Lehr and sister Joan (Lehr) Shelton.
Memorials are preferred to: New Ulm Optimist Club or Our Savior's Lutheran Church, New Ulm.
