SLEEPY EYE - Gibbon defeated Sleepy Eye 13-2 in seven innings in Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action Wednesday.
Kyle Mauer earned the win for the Reds. He pitched all seven innings, allowing six walks and seven hits.
For Gibbon, Ryan Panning was 4-for-5 and Justin Schwecke was 3-for-5. Aaron Bruns, Jorge Munoz and Maurer each had two hits for the Reds.
No stats were provided for Sleepy Eye.
Gibbon (3-8) is at Searles at 8 p.m. tonight and Sleepy Eye (7-6) hosts Leavenworth at 8 p.m. tonight.

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield rolled over Essig in a 13-3, seven-inning win over the Bluejays in Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action Wednesday.
Ryan Sturm had three hits, including two doubles and three RBIs for the Tigers. Alex Fink, Christian Loomis, Jacob Menage, Marty Brandl, and Ryan Beyer added two hits each to the Springfield offense. Matt Vogel added a single for the Tigers.
Jason Schmitz and Mitch Stueber led Essig with two hits each.
On the mound, Alex Frank picked up his second win of the season for the Tigers, working all seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, with six strikeouts.
Pat Bock took the loss for Essig, working the first 1 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs, four earned, on six hits, with two strikeouts and four walks.
Essig (7-6) is at Lamberton at 8 p.m. tonight and Springfield (6-4) hosts Hanska at 8 p.m. tonight.
