To the editor:
The arrival of spring finds many walkers out on our city sidewalks. The New Ulm Safety Commission would like to remind homeowners of the city ordinance to trim trees near public sidewalks to allow for eight feet of clearance. This allows walkers to safely pass under trees without risk of injury. The New Ulm Safety Commission is an advisory committee to the Mayor and City Council. The commission studies matters of traffic and safety. Please feel free to contact one of the Safety Commission members with concerns. The public members of the New Ulm Safety Commission are: Marilyn Swan (Chair), Josh Luneburg (Vice-Chair), Joanne Brennan (Secretary), David Guest, Dr. Dan Drugan, Bob Wurtzberger, Charles Mitchell, Tom Roesch, and Michelle Bertrand.
