NEW ULM - New Ulm's First Ward City Councilor Ruth Ann Webster filed for re-election on Tuesday.
Webster will be completing her third term on the council in December, tallying 12 years of service.
"It seems like there's a lot of issues to come before the city council and I would like to be part of the discussion," she said. For instance, "if we are going to be having lengthy discussions on whether to allow farm animals in the city limits, I'd like to have my say on that," she said.

Webster also said she looks forward to working with a new council, with new members like Lisa Fischer, who filed for Second Ward, and possibly Chuck Hanson, who filed for Third Ward.
Webster is an attorney who was a partner with Gislason and Hunter until she retired. For the past five years she has been working part-time with Southern Minnesota Legal Services, which provides free legal services and advice to low-income clients. "But I'll be retiring from that at the end of October."
Webster is married to Phil Meidl.
Filing for city and county offices continues through 5 p.m. next Tuesday, June 5.
