Memorial Day kicked off the traditional summer vacation season. For a lot of people that means packing up the kids in the car and heading off somewhere - to the lake on weekends, to campgrounds, to visit relatives in distant places, to head out and see historic sites and interesting places.
It's fun to travel, even if Billy sits too close to Millie's part of the seat at times.
Travel can be hazardous, however, when highways are crowded, kids are getting cranky and the parents are getting too tired. People can avoid the hazards by planning to be safe - allow plenty of time to get where you're going, take plenty of breaks, and don't try to drive too far in one day.
Taking it easy on the way to and from your vacation destination can help you arrive safely and get home with nothing but great memories.
