REDWOOD FALLS - A 17-year-old Redwood Falls girl reported missing since April 2, 2012 was found in Illinois earlier this week and has been returned home with her mother, according to police.
Mackenzie Brooke Boni was reported missing Tuesday, April 3, the day after she was last seen.
Redwood Falls Assistant Police Chief Jason Cotner said Boni was found alive and well on the evening of Tuesday, April 9 in central Illinois by the DeWitt County Sheriff's Department.
"They were acting on information that she was in their area which we obtained from people in Redwood Falls," Cotner said. "Another person was with her when she was found. Nobody else has been implicated at this time. We're doing a follow-up investigation to see if any crimes were committed."
Boni was listed as an endangered runaway on the National Center For Missing & Exploited Children (www.missingkids.com).
