NEW ULM - Wendy Guggisberg, certified occupational therapy assistant at New Ulm Medical Center (NUMC), was recently recognized with the Allina's Award of Excellence. The award is given each year to employees who go above and beyond. This year, 18 individuals and two groups from the Allina system received the honor at the 2012 Award of Excellence luncheon hosted by Allina CEO Ken Paulus.
Guggisberg is known for much more than her professional responsibilities at NUMC. For the past 10 years, she has continued to find new ways to serve her patients, her coworkers and the community in New Ulm. She has volunteered in many different capacities at NUMC over the years and is recognized by colleagues for her constant willingness to help others within the department. In the community, she is a strong advocate for Relay for Life and a member of the Cancer Center Campaign Committee. Guggisberg's positive attitude, willingness to share her personal experiences, and passion for helping others have contributed greatly to the Have a Heart Gala and numerous fundraising events.
