NEW ULM - Randy Shaver, Sports Director of KARE-11 TV, will be the guest speaker at the 45th annual New Ulm Rotary Scholars Recognition Banquet.
The banquet will be held Monday, March 26 at the Martin Luther College gymnasium in New Ulm, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
This banquet recognizes the academic top 15 percent of the graduating classes for New Ulm Cathedral, New Ulm High School and Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School.
In addition to Shaver's work at KARE-11, he has established the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund.
The New Ulm Rotary club also sponsors the "Service Above Self" award and scholarship. This award and scholarship are given at the banquet to one member of each school's graduation class who demonstrated the Rotary motto "Service Above Self" in their attitude in school, the community and their personal development.
