SLEEPY EYE - The Sleepy Eye Sportsmen's Club will hold its 30th annual Fishing Derby on Sunday, Feb. 5, from noon to 3 p.m. on Sleepy Eye Lake.
Four cash prizes will be awarded in two categories. The entry fee is $5 per person.
For the 30th anniversary derby, a special raffle is being held. Prizes include an $8,000 Ice Castle fish house, plus nine cash prizes valued at $1,750.
The day's events also include a general raffle, fish registration door prizes and a large raffle.
The large raffle will include prizes such as a portable fish house, a power ice auger, wildlife prints, cash, gift certificates and more. Raffle tickets are available before and during the contest. The general raffle will take place all afternoon during the contest.
Kids who register to fish will be given prizes until the prizes are gone.
Food and refreshments will be available. Proceeds will go to local projects and organizations.
