Idea Haus offers inspiration for remodeling, decorating

NEW ULM - The Idea Haus is a one-stop shop for inspiration on remodeling and decorating a home.

The shop, which is located near Runnings at 618 16th North Street, offers designer services and a wide range of products to make ideas a reality.

The business opened last October after extensive remodeling to the building that previously housed a laundromat.

The showroom features samples of flooring, cabinetry, counter tops, stone products and windows and doors.

The Idea Haus began doing jobs early last fall.

The business is owned by Overson Lumber Co., Inc., which has other stores in Sleepy Eye, St. James, Lamberton, Wabasso, Jackson and Westbrook.

Staff at the New Ulm store includes manager Terry Petersen, designer Lynn Heuchert, and estimator, sales and designer Miranda Lashinski.

Product brands include Larson and Anderson windows, Timbertech decks, Boulder Creek stone products, Armstrong cabinets, Stainmaster flooring, and Cambria Natural Quartz surfaces.

Store hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

Idea Haus hosts a grand opening from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28. The public is invited to meet store staff and enjoy coffee and goodies.
