What about cruelty to children?

January 10, 2012
The Journal

To the editor:

The Jan 4 'Pit bulls are misunderstood breed' mentioned something about a police raid on Michael Vick's kennels in Virginia. They found dogs chained to car axles, and remains of dogs that had been shot with a .22, electrocuted, drowned, hanged, or slammed into the ground for lacking a desire to fight. Vick served 21 months in prison and two months of home confinement after sentencing in 2007.

Going into an abortion clinic, people have found children scalded to death with saline solution, some survived, and when taken out of the womb still alive, were then chocked to death or thrown into a pail to die. Others where pulled out of the womb, except for the head which was then punctured, brains sucked out and skull crushed while their little hands and feet jerked in response to the cruelty.

I certainly do not condone Vick's actions, but why is it that people can do the same cruelty to children and not suffer the same consequences? Something to think about as we head into the 39th anniversary of Roe versus Wade on Jan 22 with over 54 million butchered kids.

America seems to be losing it's ability to think rationally; so much so that we even have to put up for a vote this Nov. on whether or not two guys living together in an intrinsically disordered sexual relationship is a marriage.

The dumbing down of America is everywhere according authors Daniel J. Flynn, ( "Blue Collar Intellectuals") and Mark Bauerlein (The Dumbest Generation: How the Digital Age Stupefies Young Americans and Jeopardizes Our Future). Will this trend continue? I think so, at least until team China-Russia completes a managerial take- over of our government now that we have adopted a 'Made in China' economic policy.
