Nicollet Co. P&Z to consider feedlot expansion requests

ST. PETER - The Nicollet County Planning & Zoning Advisory Commission will consider three conditional use permit requests for new construction on existing hog feedlots on Monday, Jan. 23.

Steamboat Pork, 57780 382nd St., Lafayette, proposed to build a 44'x76' barn addition with a 44'x76'x10' concrete manure storage area with no animal unit increase to an existing 2,448 head (797.9 animal unit au) hog feedlot.

The existing facility consists of a 41'294' and 76'x312' total confinement barns with concrete manure storage areas and a 76'x236' total confinement barn with manure flush pit.

Jason Enter, 57108 422nd St., Lafayette, proposed to expand a 2,700 head (635 au) to 3,700 head (935 au) with construction of a 41'x200' total confinement barn with 41'x200'x8' concrete manure storage area.

The existing facility consists of two 41'x200' total confinement barns with concrete manure storage areas, a 40'x100' total confinement barn with concrete manure storage area and 24'x64' total confinement barn with manure flush system.

Enter proposed to expand an existing 2000 head (600 au) hog feedlot to 3,000 head (900 au) with the construction of a 51'x160' total confinement barn with 51'x160'x8' concrete manure storage areas.

The existing facility consists of two 51'x168' total confinement barns with concrete manure storage areas at 55911 422nd St., Lafayette.
