NEW ULM - Physicians for a National Health Program-Minnesota is sponsoring an informational breakfast for business owners on Friday at the New Ulm Country Club.

David Steil will speak about the "Single Payer" health care system and how is makes sense for businesses. The event starts at 7:30 a.m.

"We believe it is the right time to talk about the nonpartisan issue of the rising costs of health care," said Dr. Laurel Gamm of New Ulm, one of the organizers of the evnet. "Single payer health insurance is an idea that is being discussed at the state and national level and this is an opportunity to learn more about a solution that could contain costs and improve quality, something we all want."

Steil is a native of Minnesota, a past Republican legislator and a small business owner for over 35 years. He serves on the Executive Board of his area Chamber of Commerce.

A buffet breakfast is $6 at the door.

There will also be a community event with a panel of healthcare leaders, held at the Grand Kabaret from 5-6:30 p.m.
