To the editor:
I would love for all those who voted "no" to the referendum to take a day or two and go through the typical school day of an NUHS student. See if you're able to learn any of the so-called "fundamentals" in a classroom where there aren't enough desks, let alone up-to-date books, for every student. Try doing all of your homework in class because you aren't able to take your books home because you're sharing one set of books for three class periods.
For those who believe the school can afford cutting extra-curricular activities, can school can really afford to let go of 20 teachers? Was closing down our middle school not enough of an eye-opener for anyone? This isn't a joke anymore. Our school system is in dire need of support. As a college student studying to become a teacher, this lack of support for the education system makes me cringe. Stop punishing the students.
