CODE OF THE CITY
OF NEW ULM RELA-
TIVE TO THE MIN-
NESOTA ELECTRI-
CAL ACT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF
NEW ULM:
SECTION I. That Sec-
tion 11.10 of the City
Code of the City of
New Ulm is hereby
enacted to read as fol-
lows:
Section 11.10. Min-
nesota Electrical Act
adopted.
Subdivision 1. Pur-
pose. The purpose of
this section is to es-
tablish an electrical in-
spections program in
the City of New Ulm
that is administered
and enforced by the
City.
Subd. 2. Adoption.
The Minnesota Electri-
cal Act, as adopted by
the Commissioner of
Labor and Industry
pursuant to Minnesota
Statutes Sections
326B.31 to 326B.399,
including subsequent
amendments thereto,
is hereby incorporated
into the City Code of
the City of New Ulm
as if fully set out
herein. The Minnesota
State Building Code in-
corporates by refer-
ence the National
Electrical Code pur-
suant to Minnesota
Rules 1315.0200. All
such codes incorporat-
ed herein by reference
constitute the electri-
cal code of the City of
New Ulm.
Subd. 3. Evidence of
license on file. Every
individual or business
entity doing electrical
work within the City of
New Ulm shall file with
the City Inspections
Department a copy of
the current license is-
sued by the Commis-
sioner of Labor and In-
dustry or such other
evidence of such
license as may be pro-
vided by the Commis-
sioner of Labor and In-
dustry.
Subd. 4. Authority to
inspect. The City of
New Ulm hereby pro-
vides for the inspec-
tion of all electrical in-
stallations, pursuant to
Minnesota Statutes
Section 326B.36,
subd. 6.
Subd. 5. Compli-
ance. All electrical in-
stallations shall com-
ply with the require-
ments of the electrical
code of the City of
New Ulm and this ordi-
nance.
Subd. 6. Permits and
fees. The issuance of
permits and the collec-
tion of fees shall be as
authorized in Minneso-
ta Statutes Section
326B.37. Any inspec-
tion or handling fees
will be payable to the
City of New Ulm.
Subd. 7. Notice and
appeal. All notices of
violations and orders
issued under this ordi-
nance shall be in con-
formance with Min-
nesota Statutes Sec-
tion 326B.36, subd. 4.
Subd. 8. Violations
and penalties. A vio-
lation of this section is
a misdemeanor.
SECTION II. That this
ordinance shall take
effect and shall be in
force 30 days from
and after its adoption,
approval, and publica-
tion.
Adopted by the City

New Ulm this 20th day

plete a Non Spray Ap-
plication which can be
obtained by contacting
the Brown County
Highway Department
at 507-233-5700, or
printing and completing
the form off the Brown
County Web site:
under Departments/
Highway/Permits.
When landowners/
renters do not
respond, we will as-
sume it is acceptable
to spray. The applica-
tion is planned to begin
Oct 3, 2011.
