FAIRFAX - Alvin J. Bock, 85, of Fairfax, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the Fairfax Community Home.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 8, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax, with burial in Ft. Ridgley Cemetery, Ridgely Township, Nicollet County. Military Honors by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Arrangements are with the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax.
Visitation will be 5-8: p.m. on Thursday, July 7 at the United Methodist Church in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax.
Alvin John Bock was born on Sept. 23, 1925, in Wabasso to Richard and Alma (Weber) Bock.
Alvin served in the U.S. military during World War II from Aug. 30, 1944,to July 3, 1946. He received the Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Medal Battle Stars; two Overseas Bars; Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and the Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Faith Bock of Fairfax; children, Candace Johnson of Eagan, Dallas Bock of New Ulm, Michelle Sander, Denise Hennen of Baxter, and Dean Bock of Franklin; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beulah Thomssen of Annandale, and Ruth Maras of Springfield; and brother, Glen Bock of Wabasso.
