NEW ULM - Brown County commissioners unanimously approved the purchase of a manufactured caretaker's home at Lake Hanska County Park Tuesday.
Commissioners approved buying a 28x38, 3-bedroom, one-bath home from Excelsior Homes, Hutchinson, for $55,483. The cost includes freight, set-up, frost piers, insulated skirting, water/sewer hookup, central air, fridge and oven range, furnace, hot water, 5-year warranty and sales tax.
The home must be placed on the same site as a previous home at the park. The former caretaker's home was demolished and removed due to its dilapidated condition.
Commissioners unanimously approved:
Allowing the repurchase of tax-forfeited property at 326 End Avenue East, Springfield for the total delinquent amount plus fees of $1,304.57 through July 2011. In a letter to commissioners, Nancy Torres wrote that she bought the home from Pedro and San Juanita Salinas for $14,000 in 2009, but there were delinquent taxes due so the document could not be recorded.
Torres wrote that once taxes are paid, she will record the Agreement and work to get a Warranty Deed from the former owner so she will become the sole taxpayer of record.
