Free Movie Wednesday at Library
NEW ULM - Bring the family to a free movie June 8 at 3 p.m. at New Ulm Public Library. The movie is rated G and runs 84 minutes. Refreshments will be served. This event is sponsored by the Optimist Club and Friends of the New Ulm Public Library. Call the library at 507-359-8334 for the movie title.
First Choice Fundraiser
NEW ULM - First Choice Pregnancy Services will hold a Family Night Fundraiser at McDonalds from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. With crafts, balloons, and a movie, there will be fun for the whole family!
Ten percent of the proceeds will go to help cover the costs of the daily operations of First Choice Pregnancy Services. FCPS volunteers will be at McDonalds to share in the fun, clear tables, and to answer questions.
First Choice Pregnancy Services is a non-profit organization that provides many valuable services to women before, during, and after pregnancy, including free pregnancy testing, lay counseling, emergency supplies of diapers and formula, parenting classes, opportunities for earning baby items, and professional referrals. FCPS receives no government funding and is dependent upon income provided by fundraising and private donations.
Free Day Camp at Allison Park
SLEEPY EYE - Brown County Farmers Union and River Region Cooperative are sponsoring a free Day Camp at Allison Park in Sleepy Eye on Tuesday, June 14. The camp is open to kids of all ages from the country and town. It will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.
At the Day Camp, kids will participate in classic games that teach about cooperation, an important building block for strong rural communities. Kids will also be involved in crafts, fun songs, and skits, all in a positive environment.
