Council will host hearing on Home Rule Charter

NEW ULMThe New Ulm City Council will host a public hearing on possible revisions to the New Ulm Home Rule Charter, the city's governing document, on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

The revisions range from clarification of wordings to reflect modern practices to a fundamental revisions of the mayoral powers.

The public hearing is intended to allow New Ulm residents a chance to review the document and voice any support or concerns they have with the proposed changes.

The Council will also consider a resolution appointing Ellwood Zabel, Inspections Technician for the Department of Building Safety, to the LOGIS Board of Directors and Melissa Bode, Administrative Assistant for the Department of Building Safety, as an alternate.
