Beranek praised the ever-increasing popularity of Schell's Brewery as a tourist site.

"The most frequent question tourists ask is 'Where's the Brewery?' and 'What time are the tours?'" said Beranek.

She highlighted the tourist draw that Brewery has, noting how more than 35,000 people go on brewery tours each year and approximately 6,000 people attend the annual Bock Fest.

She also noted that the Convention and Visitors Bureau has recently adopted a new tag line: "New Ulm - Come See What's Brewing."

Ted Marti said that he was pleased they received the award but that they did not seek it.

"We just want to see New Ulm prosper and become an even bigger tourist attraction," said Marti, "We're constantly look at new ways to bring people to town."

He has also served on the boards of Heritagefest, Bavarian Blast, Turnverein and the Brown County Agricultural Society.

She has also served on the Convention and Visitor Bureau board. She is the past chair of the Tourism Committee and is currently serving on the Commerce Board.
