NEW ULM - Kohls-Weelborg Chevrolet will be hosting its first "Freezin' for Food" drive in New Ulm.
Kohls-Weelborg recently became a part of New Ulm's business community and is celebrating by hosting "Freezin' for Food" on Dec. 15 and 16 at its New Ulm location, 1430 Westridge Road, the former Bob Schuck Chevrolet site.
The goal is to collect 20,000 pounds of non-perishable food items or cash donations.
People can bring non-perishable food items or cash donations to the New Ulm dealership on Wednesday, Dec. 15 or Thursday, Dec.16 Kohls-Weelborg will place the contribution into a semi-trailer destined for the New Ulm Food Shelf.
The project that will start with a "bang" when Berg's Battery fires a salute to officially start the campaign.
Some suggested items include
Boxed dinners like Hamburger Helper and macaroni and cheese
Baby food
Cake mixes
Sugar and flour in 5-pound bags
Detergent
Paper products
Personal Items - body wash, shampoo/conditioner
Canned goods
Spaghetti sauce
Diapers
Instant mashed potatoes
