FOREST CITY, Iowa -The Martin Luther College women's basketball team started the season strong with a 94-85 win at Waldorf Wednesday night.
Erica Babinec had a game-high 27 points and Amanda Burk had with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sarah Free and Melissa Christensen each had 12 points.
MLC plays Friday when it travels to Nebraska-Wesleyan for a two-day tournament.
Men fall to Waldorf
The MLC men's basketball team trailed big at halftime, but closed the gap late in a 60-53 loss at Waldorf Wednesday.
Nathan Bauer led MLC with 14 points, while Scott Henrich came off the bench to add eight. Justin Eternick finished with a team-high eight rebounds.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Central for a 3 p.m. game.
