SPRINGFIELD - Ardella Anderson, age 101, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at the Springfield Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7 at Sundown Lutheran Church in Sundown Township with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6 at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel in Springfield, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Pastor Carl Seamon, officiating.
Memorials are preferred to Sundown Lutheran Cemetery and donor's choice.

Ardella Christine Anderson was born May 11, 1909, in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County, the daughter of Willie and Martha (Ginkel) Ewald. She attended Sunrise School, Clements High School and Redwood Falls High School. Ardella was united in marriage to Alfred Anderson on October 18, 1926. The couple farmed in Sundown Township until Alfred's death in 1958. Ardella then farmed with her son Curt until 1962, when she moved to Clements to take care of her father-in-law. She returned to Sundown Township in 1964. Ardella was a lifetime member of Sundown Lutheran Church, a member of the Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Mothers Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, baking, and caring for others.
She also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, dominoes, Scrabble, and making clothes for her grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters-in-law- Clarice Anderson and Jan Anderson of Springfield; grandchildren, Eugene Brown of St. James, Mike Anderson of Redwood Falls, Greg Anderson of Springfield, Susan Wilmes of Sanborn, Donna Bonham of Strasburg, Va., Kevin Brown of Lamberton, Alan Brown of Eveleth, Mary Fennern of Sanborn, Patti Sell of Sanborn, Kelly Pankonin of Los Angeles, Calif., and Marie (VanLoy) Anderson of Wanda; 26 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and step-sisters, Esther Lux and Irma Zaske.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred; daughter Jean Pankonin; sons, Donald and Curtis Anderson; grandsons, Marvin Anderson and Ricky Brown; great-grandsons, Jeromy Radtke and Chad VanLoy; sisters, Carrie Anderson, Jane Luke, Edith Otto, and Dorothy Becker; brothers, Marlin Ewald, Carl Otto, and Marwil Otto; and sons-in-law, Evan Brown and Ray Pankonin.
