Brust, Marvin Leo

Marvin Leo Brust was born to Fred and Anna (Sellner) Brust on March 17, 1917, in New Ulm, MN. He was baptized at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on April 22, 1917 and received his Holy Communion on May 15, 1932, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, by Father John Gloergan.

Marvin was united in marriage with Naomi Johnson in Estherville, IA. On September 7, 1940. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wadena, MN since 1947, where he served on many church boards. Marvin was a member of the Wadena Fire Department for 20 years, and had also been a member of the Rotary Club, Wadena Jaycees, and the Ajax Coffee Club. He served several years on the Wadena Public School Board.

Marvin worked at Minnesota Motors in Wadena, and was a Service Manager at Goetz-Everson Motors. He was the Automotive Instructor at the Wadena Technical College for 20 years. He enjoyed traveling with the Holiday Rambler Trailer Club and others.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Anna; brothers, Bill, Clarence, Harold, Norman and James; and sisters, Helen Lindemeyer, Lucille Bieraugel, LillyAnn Berkland, and Alvera Kuester.

He was a faithful husband to Naomi of Wadena, and father to Vern (Kathy) Brust of Rice Lake, WI, Sandra (Barry) Pratt of Wadena, Bonita (Jerry) Orr of Cascade, MT, and Roxanne (Stephen) Austin of Cascade, MT. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and his twin sister Arlene Buck of Blaine.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on July 28, at the United Methodist Church in Wadena, with Pastor Shirley Nelson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ajax Coffee Club and Wadena Fire Department. Pallbearers were Jay Dougherty, Steve Brust, Tom Brust, Tim Yotter, Paul Brust, Eric Frankhouser, Tom Johnson, and Mike Johnson. Interment will be in the Wadena Cemetery.
