NEW ULM - A Sleepy Eye man was critically injurd in a semi-car crash at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at CSAH 29/185th Ave. in Milford Township.
Jonathon Houston Ladd, 25, of Sleepy Eye was driving a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix and Randy Harold Hanson, 37, of Wabasso, was driving a 2009 International semi tractor. Both vehicles were westbound on CSAH 29.
Ladd veered off the road onto the shoulder, and spun out sideways onto the roadway into the path of the semi tractor which was following behind.
Hanson's semi crashed into Ladd's driver's side, throwing the Pontiac into the south ditch. All involved were wearing seatbelts.
Ladd was flown by air ambulance from the scene to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he was reported in critical condition.
Kami Johnson, a passenger in the Ladd vehicle, sustained multiple injuries at the scene. She was taken to New Ulm Medical Center and transferred to North Memorial, where she was reported in stable condition on Thursday. Hanson sustained a possible knee injury.
Brown County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the New Ulm Police Department, New Ulm Fire Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Allina Ambulance, North Air Helicopter, and several people who stopped to assist.
