SYNOPSIS OF COUNTY BOARD MEETING
March 2, 2010
Members present: Berg, Dove, Lochner, and
Potter, along with Administrator Enter and County
Attorney Hinnenthal. Commissioner Seeboth
was excused.
M/Lochner, S/Potter, to accept the Minutes
of 2-23-10 and authorize publication of the
Synopsis of same, carried.
M/Lochner, S/Dove, to authorize the payment
of General Government claims as revised in the
amount of $51,687.20, carried.
M/Lochner, S/Potter, to authorize the
purchase of Four (4) Dell OptiPlex 780 Minitower
computers in the state contract amount of $825.64
each; and two (2) HP 24" Widescreen Flat Panel
Monitors in the state contract amount of $350.00
each; for a total amount of $4,277.73 (includes
sales tax) for the Brown County Probation Dept.
with funding provided by Offender Supervision
Fees, carried.
M/Potter, S/Berg, to approve the Public
Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC)
Radio Control Station Grant in the amount of
$18,638.94 and the related Limited Interoperability
Participation Plan, carried.
M/Lochner, S/Dove, to approve the Agreement
Between Brown County and the State of MN
Through its Commissioner of Transportation for
the Operation of Subscriber Radios on the Allied
Radio Matrix for Emergency Response (ARMER)
System and authorize the Vice-Chairman, County
Administrator, and County Attorney to sign same
on behalf of Brown County, carried.
M/Potter, S/Dove, to authorize the purchase
of GPS survey equipment from Leica to share
with Watonwan County understanding that
Brown County's share would be in the amount
of $13,447.78 (includes sales tax and estimated
shipping) and contingent on Watonwan County's
like action, carried. An additional quote was
received from Trimble.
M/Potter,S/Lochner,toacceptandfilethe
following Highway Dept. Monthly Update: 2010
Construction Projects Plan Update; Maintenance
Projects Update, carried.
M/Dove, S/Potter, to authorize posting for
three (3) Highway Summer Students to work with
the Engineering Crew and the Maintenance Crew
atthefollowingratesofpay:$8.00/hrfirstyear;
$8.50/hr second year and $9.00/hr third year,
carried.
M/Lochner, S/Dove, to accept the resignation
ofShirleyHemingwayasaSeasonalPTOffice
Support SpecialistEAP being effective 2-11-10,
with authorization to post the position at a later
date due to the seasonal nature of the position,
carried.
M/Potter, S/Berg, to appoint Annie Hillesheim
as the FT Intake Social Worker in the Family
Services Dept. at the annual salary of $38,029
(Grade XIII, Entry) contingent of passage of a pre-
placement physical and background check, with
a projected start date of 3-22-10, carried.
Correspondence C-1 thru C-16 were accepted
andfiled.
Lochner and Berg reported on the ARMER
meeting on 2-24-10; Potter and Lochner reported
on the Clean Water Partnership; Lochner reported
on SCHA matters; Berg reported on the Enterprise
North meeting on 3-1-10; and Potter reported on
the Bridging Brown County Congress on 2-26-
10.
Calendars were coordinated for the next two
week period.
There being no further business, Vice
Chairman Berg adjourned the Meeting at 10:17
AM.
