Melvin Baune, 79, of Glenwood formerly of Wabasso, died at home Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, in St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday and continue Thursday one hour prior to services in St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. There will be a parish prayer service Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the church in Wabasso.
Arrangements are being handled by the Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso.
Melvin Clarence Baune was born April 11, 1930 in Wabasso, to Edward and Anna (Frericks) Baune.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1954.
He is survived by his children, Johnita "Jan" Syverson of East Dubuque, IL, Monica Galbraith of Mosinee, WI, Paul Baune of Glenwood, Margaret "Peggy" Schrunk Lonnie of Lynd, and Elizabeth "Beth" Desmedt of Marshall, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Rothmeier of Sleepy Eye, Reynold Baune of Cottonwood, Eugene Baune of Wabasso and Butch Baune of Wabasso.
