Bjorklund has big game once again

Sibley East 87, NYA 70

GAYLORD - Sibley East's Marshall Bjorklund was dominant once again as the Wolverines defeated Norwood Young America in Minnesota River Conference basketball action Tuesday.

Bjorklund had 35 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks for the Wolverines. Justin Rettmann had 14 points and Lucas Herd had 12 points. Ian Berg scored 11 for Sibley East.

Sibley East (6-1) is at the Redwood Valley Christmas Tournament Monday and will play St. James.

Belle Plaine 52,

GFW 51

WINTHROP - Belle Plaine defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 52-51 Tuesday in nonconference boys basketball play.

Alex Platz led GFW with 23 points and eight rebounds, Kyle Hoffman and Buddy Wortz each added 11 points while Hoffman had 11 rebounds.

Belle Plaine was led by Charlie Kern who had 20 points and Justin Potthast put up 15 points in the win.

GFW (2-3) plays Tuesday against Murray County Central.
