BUFFALO LAKE - Dorathea Petersen, 96, of Buffalo Lake, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at the Hutchinson Community Hospital.

Funeral Service will be Friday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 8 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Holtz of Hutchinson, David Petersen of Buffalo Lake, Gary Petersen of Murrayville, Georgia, and Barbara Burkstrand of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; brother Reuben Hoecke of Melrose; and sisters, Frances Krumrey of Buffalo Lake and Vera Wall of Hutchinson.

Dorathea Bertha Petersen was born March 24, 1913, in Brookfield Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Carl W. and Dora (Menk) Hoecke.
