NEW ULM - Ordella Pagel, 88, of New Ulm died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 at the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Wednesday.

Ordella is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Linda Pagel of New Ulm; grandsons, Matthew, Justin, Zachary Svetlana, Carl and Mollie and Karl Pagel; great-grandchildren, Max, Augie and Amelia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Pagel on April 15, 1994; and a brother, Melvin in infancy.

Ordella Henrietta Elsie Boelter was born Sept. 11, 1921 in Bismarck Township, Sibley County to Wilhelm and Selma (Gehrke) Boelter. She was united in marriage to Paul Pagel on April 29, 1945 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. After marriage they lived in New Ulm where she workedin themeat department of the Red Owl Grocery Store and had worked at the Wearwell Garment Factory. She also did daycare for her grandchildren for many years. Ordella enjoyed traveling, fishing and going toJackpot Junction. She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm and the American Legion Auxiliary.
