Sleepy Eye tops MCC
SLEEPY EYE - The Sleepy Eye boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season as it beat Murry County Central 61-45 at the Sleepy Eye Tip Off Tournament Saturday.
Twelve different players scored for the Indians, who were led by Tyler Hadley with 12 points. Andrew Geiger had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
MCC was led by Taylor Streff with 14 points and Kyle Lewis had 10 points.
Sleepy Eye (1-1) hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Tuesday.
In the other game of the tournament, Lester Prairie beat Sleepy Eye St. Mary's 57-45.
Brett Ubl had 13 points and Sean Mathiowetz added 11 points for St. Mary's. Dan Anderson scored 14 points for Lester Prairie.
St. Mary's (0-2) is at New Ulm Cathedral Monday.

Redwood Valley 80
REDWOOD FALLS - Cedar Mountain/Comfrey opened the season with a win against Redwood Valley Saturday.
All five starters scored in double figures and Nick Goldan scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half for the Cougars.
Dalton Kleinschmidt had 21 points and 13 rebounds. Tanner Kokesch scored 15 points and Zak Pendleton and Ryan Carlson each had 11 points.
Redwood Valley was led by JT Radel scored 37 points and Mike Busack had 17 points.
CM/C hosts Wabasso Monday.
Cathedral 70,
LeCenter 39
LECENTER - New Ulm Cathedral won its first game of the season beating LeCenter 70-39 in the the LeCenter Tournament Saturday.
The Greyhounds had four players in double figures led by Kevin Larson with 21.
Ross Grathwohl had 14, Brian Nosbush scored 13 and Alex Cooper added 10 points for Cathedral.
Cathedral (1-1) hosts St. Mary's Monday.
BLH 36, LeCenter 32
LECENTER - Buffalo Lake-Hector edged LeCenter in boys basketball action Friday in LeCenter.
Cody Bauleke had 10 points for the Mustangs. Matt Traxler added 13 rebounds.
