Wabasso 60, WWG 45

WABASSO - Wabasso's Kimberly Frank led the Rabbits with 25 points and 13 rebounds as she led the Rabbits to a 60-45 girls basketball victory over the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers in a non-conference game on Tuesday.

Also for Wabasso, Morgan Samyn scored 10 points and Alonna Baune had 10 rebounds.

Wabasso (1-0) is set to play its next game against the Sleepy Eye Indians Thursday.

LCWM 78, Sleepy Eye 63

LAKE CRYSTAL - Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial defeated Sleepy Eye 78-63 Tuesday in non-conference girls basketball action.

Karissa Hillmer led the Indians with 19 points, and Claire Krumbach had 11 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks.

Offensively LCWM was led by Chelsey Hoefs, who had 19 points. Karina Schroeder had 16 points for the Knights.

Sleepy Eye (0-3) hosts Wabasso Thursday in Tomahawk Conference action.

CM/C 60, Redwood Valley 40

MORGAN - Cedar Mountain/Comfrey defeated Redwood Valley 60-40 Tuesday in a non-conference girls basketball matchup.

Nicole Kerkoff led the offensive charge for the Cougars with 15 points.

Also for CM/C was Jaime Hanson who had 13 points and eight rebounds, Kayla Mathiowetz had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Beth Ochs had six points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Redwood Valley was led by Jessica Fischer who had 19 points.

CM/C (1-0) hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Friday and Redwood Valley (0-1) hosts Worthington on the same night.

Springfield 61, RRC 51

JEFFERS - Stacia Jones and Tiana Runck scored 16 points each to put the the Springfield Tigers over the Red Rock Central Falcons in a nonconference girls basketball game on Tuesday night.

The Tigers had three players with personal scores in the double digits. Aside from Jones and Runck, Emily Scholtz managed 11 points. Jones also had five steals while Runck pulled down 14 rebounds.

For the Falcons, Nicole Schroeder led the team with 12 points.

Springfield (1-0) has its next game on Tuesday against Windom. RRC (0-1) has its next game at home on Friday against Fulda.
