Comfrey-Alan Treml, age 58, of Comfrey near Darfur, died at his home on Friday, November 20, 2009.

Funeral services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James with Rev. Thomas Cook officiating. Burial will be at the Japanese Martyr's Catholic Cemetery in Leavenworth.

Visitation will be Monday, November 23, 2009 at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James from 4pm to 8pm and will continue on Tuesday from 9am until service time.

Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.

Alan Benjamin Treml was born in Comfrey on June 14, 1951 the son of Benjamin and Mariann (Goblirsch) Treml. Alan grew up in the Comfrey, Darfur and West Sveadahl areas. He graduated from Comfrey High School in 1969. Alan was married to Linda Lindmeier in Springfield on May 4, 1985.

Alan was employed at Westin's in St. James until they closed. He was a member of the Catholic Aid Society. Alan collected toy tractors and enjoyed going to toy shows and Allis Chalmers events. Alan loved to do yard work.

He is preceded in death by his father Ben Treml in 1975, his older sister Thecla in 1957 and his younger brother Neil in 1996.

Alan is survived by his wife Linda Treml of N. Mankato, sons Justin (Caitlin Treml of N. Mankato, Jordan Treml of Chicago, IL, his mother Mariann Treml of rural Comfrey, brothers and sisters Bruce (Sandra) Treml of New London, Jeanne Treml (Larry Elg) of Lake Crystal, Marilyn Treml (Alan Stokes) of Parker, CO, Roger Treml of St. Cloud, Gail (Randy) Zempel of Duluth, several nieces and nephews.
