Charles Ahlbrecht, Sr.

GIBBON - Charles Ahlbrecht, Sr., 84 of Gibbon, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 at the Southview Living Center in Gibbon.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 23 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon, with Pastor Michael Gorte officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m on Sunday, November 22 and from 7:30 - 11 a.m. on Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of the service at the church on Monday.

Charles is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ahlbrecht of Gibbon; daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Dave Rubischko of St. Peter, Cindy and Tony Wolf of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Debbie Ahlbrecht of Casper, Wyoming, Charlie Jr. and Barb Ahlbrecht, Randy and Kathy Ahlbrecht and Lynn and Loretta Ahlbrecht all of Gibbon; 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Elva Lunderborg of New Ulm, Lois and Warren Schwecke of Mesquite, Nevada; brother Marvin Ahlbrecht of Gibbon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Orley and Marion Buboltz of Hector, Vernus and Violet Buboltz of Fairfax; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Gary in infancy; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Myrtle Ahlbrecht, Myron and Edna Buboltz, and Abner Lunderborg.

Charles William Ahlbrecht was born on Oct. 7, 1925 to Henry and Ernestine (Luehring) Ahlbrecht in Gaylord. On Nov. 8, 1945 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Buboltz at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township. Charles was a lifelong farmer, who enjoyed woodworking in his free time.

Charles was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon.
